h4kor@blog.libove.org ah interesting! The answer unfortunately does involve a cron job to post those drafts. We were in a similar situation except NodeBB doesn’t even have the concept of server side drafts, so we had to hack it in even worse

@soop so there already is C2S and the ability to read from collections, inboxes, actors, etc.ActivityPub API takes that a step further and makes sure we tackle the authentication and authorization concerns, handle things like media uploads, better filtering of collections, etc.As for co-existing, see bridgyfed, you don't need to necessarily simultaneously implement both protocols when bridging is possible.

@mackuba@laurenshof @box464 @jenniferplusplus This would actually be fairly straightforward to do with the current AP infrastructure by instances maintaining a collection of hashtags that are followed on that instance and caching the collections from other instances and sending to them when a hashtag is used. Its just not implemented by mastodon.

See that’s the thing, I don’t know if I want to block all AI crawlers. I’m not bullish on AI at all, and I do think that it’s a huge waste of resources for these companies to proactively crawl everything they can get their hands on, but by and large it’s not really been a major issue. I could be wrong… I know @baris did do some work on attempting to block some of these bots back when they were being quite egregious too. The wave we’re seeing are all using common user agents and rotating IP addresses from Brazil/Vietnam/etc. I’d try a geo-block next I think. Possibly Anubis, as well as this little tidbit you mentioned above: > I found that the user agent strings they use for their requests have random numbers for the browser version so if you craft a nginx regex-based config that blocks really old browsers, that gets rid of 95% of it. eblu yeah, I’m very sex worker positive, and I’m queer myself, so I definitely don’t want to see these labels used for harm. It’ll probably take some amount of work to come up with an initial set of labels, but we basically support things like “same as this other label”, “broader than this other label” and “narrower than this other label”, which pulling in a graph like that results in some rather powerful capabilities.
