🧵1/n: Waiting for the #YourParty event to start in #Lambeth, #London. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of people under 50 years-old. I also can count on same hand the number of non white people. Very dispiriting especially when you hear them talk about #diversity. Let's see whether this changes later, will post in this thread.

🧵2/n: in a video message #JeremyCorbyn mentions the need to open to #diversity and making efforts to welcome people who wouldn't have attended such meetings before. An earlier speaker also spoke of frustration of only getting certain demographics in #assemblies and therefore wanting to go #doorstepping instead. She told how issues like the #NHS were federating, incl. #Reform voters, and was hoping to do more of this.

🧵4/n: I was on a #yourparty working group dedicated to #Lambeth #localelections in May 2026. There was doubt whether an unorganised party will have any chance at all. There was good representation of the #GreenParty and a belief that at a minimum, an embryonic YourParty representation could strategise with the Greens. At best, go beyond basic #tech and look at #ward demographic #data for tactical targeting, as #Reform have been seen doing, and see where #Labour can be unseated.

@rq4c i was leafletted at the tube, but indeed, many people complained that they couldn't find info, seems #YourParty is struggling with #GDPR. I did hear that #ZarahSultana was scheduled to do 90 events round the country and first one is tomorrow in #Brixton (BrixtonJamm if you are local). Strangely even though i am signed up on the main website I didn't hear about it. My advice is do a search on Eventbrite, see here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/d/united-kingdom--london/zarah-sultana/

Many thanks @sheislaurence for all that info. Good to know there's much going on. GDPR issues would explain the lack of info via our sing-ups on the main site.
I dip into Zarah and Jeremy's #BlueSky accounts occasionally but haven't seen any announcements there, just post-event posts — which are encouraging.
The Eventbright page for Zarah looks good...
