What I find amazing is that managers everywhere seem to be writing open checks for this shit. Try to get 15€/month for non-free tier CI or something and you have to fight for it (and probably still be denied). But AI, they're *pushing* you to use it and never mind what it costs.

@nixCraft Many, many years ago I worked at a company where the sysadmin had a mug with this classic slogan on it: "Go away or I will replace you with a small shell script".

Today I think you could replace that person's entire usage of AI (which seems to be them using it as basically the most expensive regex engine ever devised) with a small perl or awk one-liner.
