    I get that corporations aren’t our friend but how is punishing Disney for dumping Kimmel under political pressure supposed to help?

    As much as it repulses me to say it but isn’t that just victim blaming?

    Educate me Fedi!

      @Mrfunkedude it's OK to blame the victim if its a vast vile corporation that's victimhood is outweighed by its social harms.

      We don't have to apply the same ethical tests to it that we need to apply to living beings. It doesn't require empathy and it can't offer empathy to us in return.

        @johnefrancis Okay. THIS I understand. Thank you.

        But I still don't see how it's supposed to pressure them into fighting back? Is that even the goal? What's the goal in withholding money? It's not like this was a policy they created. I mean if they came out and said "Kimmel shouldn't have said that we are going full MAGA WOO HOO!" then yeah, I'd be all "fuck them".

        And keep in mind, I'm not even a huge Disney fan. I am no sycophant to corporations by any means.

          @Mrfunkedude @johnefrancis@cosocPower.

          My take on it is that money is Power Coupons. Disney has a lot of Power Coupons and can use them to fight this, and they have enough Power Coupons to win almost any fight. Even against the US Government. If the FCC were to do something silly against Disney tomorrow, how long do you think it'll take for The Mouse to be in court getting a temporary injunction while the case drags on longer than this administration? They have the Power Coupons to make even this Administration suffer, either directly or indirectly.

          Those in charge of this company chose not to employ that power.
