I think I found my side project in 2026. Not anything related to my work and to science, that’s how I burned myself last time. Not a software project per se, but a data project.
There are a lot of open and public data about the Irish government/companies/etc.(not enough for sure), and a lot of information in the press (if we are being generous with them during this holidays season).
There are few stories/issues that I am interested in and I want to help shed a light on them with the data available. Especially around healthcare, and how I think we will never have a NHS-like healthcare system here (fellow French people, don’t come at me, a *well funded* NHS-like system is way superior to the public insurance system we have in France).
It will definitely feel make me more useful to the Irish community I am not really part of even after 10+ years living here…

@Elendol why are you not part of the community?

@Elendol why are you not part of the community?
@humanhorseshoes complex question, to keep the answer short: it is more a feeling than a fact; my life, work and interests are not rooted in the local community, etc.

@humanhorseshoes it is not "not accepted", a bit of column A and column B, but mostly a me problem, hence why I want to use my skills to support the local community
