TIL by my coworkers that there was real shit going on in Nepal, Poland, and Qatar. Unfortunately, all of this was drowned out by every single fucking post in Lemmy being about some random American I never heard of getting shot (as if that were a noteworthy achievement in America).
I need to find a better way to get non-curated news. The public is clearly absolute utter shit for this purpose and no single news company can be trusted.

I too need a better news feed, too many people just on FB/Instagram say “why didn’t I see this story on the news, they’re silencing it.” When you can just Google the story??

Don’t know about Nepal and Qatar, but I was surprised to see the lack of talk about Russian drones in Poland.
Summary: At least 19 russian drones flown into Poland, 3 of them getting shot down. Not just border regions, no, deep into Poland:
