Both digital messaging and PKI are older than I am. There's some complex theory there that I don't fully understand, but the basics are simpler than the basics of making a bed.
BUT
Privacy/security is hardly taught in schools.
That is in my mind the primary underlying issue causing people to be ridiculously vulnerable to privacy violations right now.
In 2025 knowing how to encrypt a message should be of superior educational value than tying shoes.
