I'm ambivalent about HP Lovecraft. I read them all along with https://www.hppodcraft.com/about, which was great fun. Some stories are schlocky, there's the whole racist/right wing vibe, but the odd one really creeps you out. "From Beyond" did that for me.

    Anyone else read HPL?

@garethsouthwell when I was a young man I read H. P. Lovecraft every day during October. I renewed that tradition last year and will continue it next month, and I’ll be starting with “The Hound.”

@operationwatchtower That's an interesting tradition! Any reason it's October? The HPL literary podcast is great fun - do you know it?

@garethsouthwell I listen to the podcast years ago. As far as the tradition goes, it was inspired by Halloween. When I started this tradition, I still lived in New England, so I was steeped in the Lovecraft vibe.

@operationwatchtower Ah, Halloween, of course! 🙂

Yes, reading the stories must have given living in NE a definite aura!

@operationwatchtower Well, we do trick or treat! But generally just remembering the departed.
