One thing that I was having a hard time figuring in this game was Takano's motivation for murdering Rika.
In the previous game the twist came relatively late and everything that happened after was such a shock that I couldn't think much about it.
On this one there was a lot of time to think about it and it just didn't make sense.
But with someone manipulating Takano for political gain it makes a lot more sense.

In a way this is kind of ironic. Takano spent a lot of her life just fighting to control her own destiny and in the end she is being played like a marionette by someone else.
Also, it is pretty impressive how Rika's friends were able to deduce a lot of Takano's (and the mastermind) motives just by imagining it as the story for a manga!
It does make me more hopeful that this time they will be survive
