What I love about Mastodon (and pretty much any fedi app) is that if there’s something funny or interesting I want to share, I can just share a link (as long as it’s not private or followers only).

What I love about Mastodon (and pretty much any fedi app) is that if there’s something funny or interesting I want to share, I can just share a link (as long as it’s not private or followers only). Sure sometimes I take a screenshot, but most of the time I don’t feel like messing with that so I just copy the link and send that. And my friends and contacts who are not on Mastodon? They can just open the link and just like.. see what it is. No “create an account to see this” or other nonsense that is just hostile towards users.
Now one tiny downside is that all you beautiful nerds, freaks and otherwise awesome people are VERY creative sometimes with your instance domains and it can sometimes be a challenge to convince others that it’s totally safe actually to click the link that with the “buttfucking-pissmaster.gg” -domain or whatever.
I’m also quite surprised* our IT-department hasn’t contacted me yet asking about some questionable network traffic or something.

* I’m actually not, since our IT-admin told me once that they might be able to monitor the network traffic to see what people are browsing on their work laptops/company network and set up some alarms but it would just generate extra alarms and notifications so they can’t be arsed to do anything about it because they don’t want to deal with the extra work.
