Anyone else sometimes feel self-conscious about non-technical people seeing some of the stuff you work on and thinking that's what all your work involves, or that, worse, your entire field is just like that?
Like, I just happened to have a VSCode window open that was mainly binary PDUs split up into groups with some annotation and they were absolutely dumbfounded at the idea I would just sit and stare at 01010101 all day.

@ret I almost wish I had no idea what you were talking about…
Or when you're doing something like waiting for a long-running automated process to finish, and someone happens to catch you right then finally getting a moment's relaxation after thinking through a problem for Who knows how long and feeling that yeah you've probably nailed it, and they get the idea that you get paid crazy well for just lounging around all day.
