In Uni so far, I've taken 2 philosophy courses (100 level and a 200 level), and attempted to take another course (this term) that was a 200 level.

What is abundantly clear to me:

People with learning disabilities and/or accessibility needs, or who are otherwise not exactly how you're supposed to be when ‘learning philosophy’, are not welcome in this space.

This is what I've experienced over 18 months at 2 different Universities. It's sad because I'm an excellent student. I study hard, work hard, and have great insights. I enjoy challenging myself and thinking outside the box. I'm just not welcome because I don't fit into the able-bodied white male uber-philosopher mould.

Good to have learned this, but I sure wish it were a different outcome. I went from wanting to minor in Philosophy when I first went back to school to now never wanting to touch it again outside of my personal studies.
