Of course like 5 pounds of that could easily be water weight, but you're obviously doing a lot more than only eating a very low calorie diet there.

@raccoon @Chaft Charlie Kirk is basically a bland center-right dude. Your reaction here was *not* unique to you, nor was it isolated to places like Fedi: there are even MSM sources laughing about the guy dying.

Yet, the guy basically embodied the whole "hey let's sit down and talk about our disagreements instead of having a fistfight over them" idea. It's this sort of civility that a lot of conservatives think embodies the American spirit, and the more restrained people pride themselves on this idea. He acted like a politician from the 1990s - as opposed to the Trump-era "yeah you know what our political opponents should be in jail" type rhetoric.

Essentially, you're happy that one of the few people who is willing to genuinely talk to their political opponents just got thrown in the grave. That's pretty gross, and it makes it feel impossible to try to talk out disagreements (as opposed to simply telling people on the left to 41% themselves.)

Scotch eggs are good enough that putting one in the hands of any American will get them to stop complaining about brit food for a moment, and it's kinda shameful that the US doesn't sell them in gas stations because they're obviously just great.

Brits *always* go "uh yeah yorkshire pudding and bangers and mash, those are the iconic brit foods." It's like, come the fuck on, you have more culture than that, just fucking show it off already.

Although some of it *is* very good, it really does seem like the staples come from the depression era. It isn't *abhorrent*, but it is very often pretty boring, with a handful of admittedly wonderful exceptions.

I'll still agree that the pubs are still better than what Dicey's eating.
