@MalcolmNance I think it’s more complicated, and his political motivations are not obvious.
Family and friends are obviously being pressured to say he was left wing. They may even cone to believe it. I don’t think he was either.

I suppose there may be a covert aspect to their mission, but Belarus would know that was likely. Or, they should know. It’s not likely to be cloak and dagger stuff. Belarus can’t possibly be stupid enough to let them out of their sight.
