I don’t know if any other Shortcuts users run into this issue: For no reason a Shortcut will prompt for already granted privacy permissions each time it runs, basically making it impossible to run in the background. The only fix is to duplicate the shortcut and (this is the critical bit) ensure it has a different name to the original.

Yet another way Shortcuts is flakey and unreliable.

Just a little <rant> about LLMs as I clock off from work: They’re stubborn bastards. They don’t do what I ask them, they don’t do what I want, and they don’t increase my productivity. But the usual response is that I need to get better at prompt engineering. Because gaslighting the user is a less controversial answer than admitting the limitations of of the LLM. </rant>

Unusually, I’ll be holding off on upgrading to iOS / macOS 26 until the “.1” version.

I know there will be lots of new bugs (especially in Shortcuts), and I know Apple won’t fix any of them in 26.1, but I’ll at least go into the new version with my eyes open and my teeth gritted.
