There's been a lot of outrage today about Meta/FB using images of young girls in advertisements.

But it's right there in the Terms of Service (ToS), if you bother to read them.

Those SPECIFIC terms (paraphrased: "we can use your uploaded images ANY purpose") have been there for over a decade, and probably closer to 20 years.

I have no sympathy for people who get all pissed off about being abused in specifically the way that they agreed to, and even less if they whine about how long the ToS is.

So, dear reader, help guide me through this:

When someone blocks me for telling them this when their post appears in my timeline:

@randahl I worry they're there to co-operate, not to observe an opponent's capabilities.

@mitch Sounds like a slam dunk of a legal case for wrongful dismissal as long as you do it outside work hours, from a personal device, and don’t try to represent your employer.

@DetritusBooks Using side cutters to snip the valves is less wasteful, just as effective, and less dangerous for the vandal.

Slashing tires puts perfectly good tires in landfill. Clipping valves is disruptive and labour intensive, but generates relatively little waste.

Can we start the rumour that Charlie Kirk faked his own death? That the shooting is a hoax? That he was a crisis actor, and that nobody was actually harmed? That this is all an act to frame liberals? That this is going to be used to restrict 2nd amendment rights? That the person on stage was a body double or clone?

I mean, just start using the same insane bullshit that the far-right has been spewing, to illustrate a point.

Not that I’m confident they’ll get the point…. But maybe some of them will.
