I know this is a hot take, but I think the speed cameras are not cash grabs, because you can speed elsewhere if you don’t want to pay tickets; The cameras are static, they don’t move, you can; Otherwise, slow down and nobody will take take your money;@SnowyCA @idoclosecuts
After seeing first hand what speed cameras can accomplish in such a short period of time, I'm all for them.
BTW our city tends to put them in school zones and by the hospital. Areas where people definitely need to slow down and pay attention. -

After the pandemic shut downs, our little city was filled with very aggressive speeding drivers. Then they put in moveable speed cameras, published where they were going to be on a map for everyone to see, and within 3 weeks, all the aggressive speeding went down. It's truly nice to drive again. It's not just about the money, it's getting people to slow down and be civilized while driving 2-4 tons of metal that can kill.
