12 September 1882 | Austrian Jew, Richard Bernstein, was born in Vienna. A journalist and editor. In 1933, he fled to Prague & in 1939 to Norway.
He was deported to #Auschwitz on the Monte Rosa ship on 26 November 1942. He was registered in the camp & perished there on 21 January 1943.
11 September 1930 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Jeanne Woudstra, was born in Leeuwarden.
In November 1942 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her parents Esther and Nathan and brothers Albers and Marcus. Probably all of them were murdered in gas chambers after the selection.
11 September 1924 | Slovak Jew, Rudolf Vrba (b. Walter Rosenberg), was born in Topoľčany.
On 15 June 1942, he was deported to Majdanek from where after a few weeks he was transferred to Auschwitz.

On 7 April 1944, he escaped from #Auschwitz together with Alfred Wetzler. Their report contributed later to halting the deportations of Hungarian Jews for extermination to Auschwitz.
Rudolf Vrba passed away in March 2006 in Vancouver.

In January 1944, she was deported to #Auschwitz with her father Alberto who perished in the camp in April 1944.
Liliana survived. Today, she is a Senator for life in #Italy and turns 95.
10 September 1925 | A Polish Jew, Hersz Nejman, was born in Raciąż. He emigrated to Belgium.
On 26 August 1942 he was deported to #Auschwitz from Mechelen / Malines. He did not survive.
10 September 1897 | A Pole, Władysław Prauss, was born in Warsaw. A lawyer.

10 September 1937 | A Belgian Jewish boy, Marcel Alter, was born in Brussels. He lived in the Netherlands.
He arrived at #Auschwitz on 30 September 1942 in a transport of 610 Jews deported from #Westerbork. He was among 454 of them murdered in a gas chamber.
